Step 1:
In the "Start" menu find and select "Settings". In the "Settings" menu find and select "Control Panel". In the "Control Panel" find and double click the "Display" icon.

Step 2:
This will bring up the "Display Properties" window. Find and select the "Settings" tab. In this window you can change your screen resolution. In the area marked as "Screen Area" you will see a slide bar.

Step 3:
If the slide bar is not set to "800 X 600", change its setting so it does. Once you have done that click "Apply". A message will appear, click "OK". Another message will appear to ask you if you want to keep these settings, click "yes".

Your screen resolution is now optimized at "800 X 600".
